That opening montage proved that if NOTHING else, you GET Dean. Normal for him is trying to recapture the good times, when he knew what his purpose was: taking care of Sam. Because it's interesting that so little of that montage had to do with Lisa and so much to do with Ben.
That first fifteen minutes, gives me hope for the season. The rest of the episode makes me think you suddenly said, "Oh yeah, plot..."

Lisa's right. You're an idiot. Sure, Sammy was a phantom limb the whole year -- we could see that pain behind every expression -- but there were moments you hit happy. Okay, mostly when you were displacing your love for Sam onto Ben but still. Happy. Don't sell that short.
And if things are coming after Ben and Lisa anyway, I think you made the right decision to stay and protect them instead of leaving them as sitting ducks. Especially given there's as much confusion as hurt/relief in your reaction to Sam's return.

You rock. You're strong, you're smart, but most importantly, you're aware. If they fuck you over getting Dean and Sam back together, I may never forgive them. Frankly, I hope you realize you've done as much rehab as you can and kick Dean out to face the rest of his demons. I hope they let it be your decision, even if it breaks your heart, not something that just happens to you. But I'm not holding my breath.

You came back wrong. From the moment you woke up in that field and decided to not tell Dean you were back, wrong. Oh sure, you said you were doing it for Dean but you know Dean better than that. Tell him. Fight. Leave him actually able to try and live a normal life. Leave him knowing you're alive. But that would take emotion. Empathy. And you shut all that down to survive the cage. You remember, but you don't feel. Because once you start feeling, then you feel everything and you don't think you can survive that.
You can. But you need Dean to do it.
And that had DAMNED WELL BETTER BE YOUR STORY ARC FOR THIS SEASON OR YOU'LL HAVE MORE THAN SENTENCE FRAGMENTS TO DEAL WITH!

Also, I understand why the Campbells took her. Grabbing the smallest of the enemy makes logical sense; you want to make it as easy on yourself as possible to contain them but y'all know that's not what it looks like right? It looks like you don't consider the female djin equal to the males. And yes, had you killed her, you'd have to deal with the OMG they always kill the women but I'm not sure holding the woman captive is going to get you any more points.
