Hey, Soul Sister [Open]

There was always this nostalgic feeling about Japan that the mutant sometimes liked. Right now currently wasn't one of those moments. It was exciting knowing that the team was going to be leaving Russia and moving to Japan. Of course it hadn't been one of those things it seemed everyone in the lower ranks knew about until the last minute, but it had been exciting enough for Alyssa that it hadn't hit her until their second true full day in Japan that she had totally and completely missed her birthday. Any other time and the woman would have shrugged it off, but any other time was generally spent on the job where worrying about another day like that was beyond caring for.

However, being in Japan, where she had spend a good portion of her late teens in to early adulthood training, it was making her feel every single bit of the twenty-seven years of age she was. Which was probably why the woman wasn't in the gym training or out exploring the City like she normally would have been doing. Instead Alyssa sat quietly in the mess hall stirring a spoon through a bowl of half melted ice cream lost deep in thought. In all honestly Alyssa never saw herself living past thirty. That was three years away. She could be reckless at times, taking on missions and assignments that most normal people wouldn't walk away from, and generally living on that edge that mercenaries had to live on in order to survive. Tapping the end of the spoon against the bottom of the bowl she sighed. In the years since she and her Uncle had started the search for her father she wasn't a single step closer to finding anything new out. Frustrating wasn't the best word for it. Which was why she was trying her best to formulate a new plan letting the ice cream go ignored for the time being. Happy birthday indeed.
