I was telling my Mum that we’re currently rewatching Season 3 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and she responded:

“It gets very serious later on in the series doesn’t it? Poor Spike! He had a horrible mother didn’t he and a nasty girlfriend”

I think we know where my Mum’s sympathies lie.
