Summary: Luna finds that both Diana and Usagi have come to the island.
Luna sighed as she finished folding the towels. Lately, she'd been thinking more and more about her daughter. Was Diana doing alright? She put the towels away and then went outside to check to see if anything needed cleaning. Best way to keep her mind off things, work and clean. Artemis would probably scold her, but it was hard... She missed Diana.
The little gray kitten with the odd shaped gold mark on her forehead stayed on the roof. After all, what would happen if she slipped and hurt herself and there was no one around. Yet when the door to the building she was sitting on opened, Diana slowly inched her way to the edge, knowing that it could be an enemy. Even from above the hair was familiar. "Mommy?"
Luna spun around and her blue eyes widened. "Diana!"
"Mommy!" The little cat jumped from the roof, changing into her human form in mid-air. She allowed tears to fill her eyes, because even though she was brave, she was still just a child. Landing gracefully on the ground, Diana lunged towards her mother. "Mommy, I'm scared!"
Luna knelt down and hugged Diana close to her. "Oh baby, it's okay to be scared..." She stroked her daughter's hair, "But, I'm here and so's Daddy..."
Gripping her mother tightly, Diana looked up, her tears already fading. "Daddy's here too? But I just saw you both in Crystal Tokyo."
She leaned in and kissed Diana's cheek. "Sweetie, we're from the 20th Century."
A watery smile appeared on her face. "Oh. How did I get here? I don't remember time-traveling?" Using one of her small hands, she wiped away her tears.
"This is an island and as Pluto explained it, outside of time and space. Not even she's aware of where we are." Luna stood up and took Diana's hand into her own, "But, Minako's here. So is Uranus, Neptune and Hotaru."
"Really, they're all here? How do we leave? Is it a vacation?" Diana was excited. She would get to spend more time with the younger versions of the Senshi and her parents. As much as she loved them all in her world, they were so much more childish back in the 20th Century, and there were so many things for Diana to learn from them.
"We can't leave sweetie. Not even Pluto can. But, yes, think of it like a vacation."
"Not even Pluto can leave..." Reaching into her pocket she pulled out a communicator. "I wonder if I can use this to contact mommy and daddy from Crystal Tokyo. They'll probably be worried." Confused red eyes looked up at Luna. "But if you're here, then you'll know where I've gone, right?"
"Not even those can get out. Artemis told me Minako's tried." Luna said as they walked towards the village. "I just might sweetie. But it's my future self, so we'd have to ask Pluto."
Diana smiled, squeezing Luna's hand. "Don't worry, mommy. If you still exist in Crystal Tokyo then you must leave the island eventually." The young Mauian girl was sure that everything would be all right.
"I know it'll be alright. We can't be trapped here forever." Luna said as they came upon the village.
Red eyes widened at the scene. "Look at the sea! It's so pretty!" She wanted to run straight to the ocean, but also wanted to continue holding her mom's hand. "Can we all go to the beach later? You, me, daddy and the Senshi?"
"Of course we can. I'm sure everyone would like that. Besides, Pluto needs a break, she works too hard."
Diana nodded, knowing just how serious Pluto took her work. "Where are we going now?"
"Back to where I live, because I bet you're either hungry or want something to drink."
Excited, the young girl looked up. "Will daddy be there too? Or do the two of you not live together yet?" Diana was curious about how their relationship was going, since her first appearance caused so much trouble for them both.
"We're assigned rooms in huts, and we sleep there, but we do spend a lot of time together. But, a lot of new people have appeared here recently, so I think the beings that control the island will be rearranging the huts." Luna said, "But, your Daddy and I are doing just fine."
"That's good." Diana mused for a moment. "Are you two going out on a date for Valentine's day?"
"There's going to be a dance, do we're going to that together." Luna replied as she opened the door to her hut.
Releasing the hand that held her, Diana entered the room. "I bet it's a pretty dress." She smiled. "And daddy will look handsome."
She stepped in and the closed the door behind them. "Of course he will. Pluto wouldn't let him go out in public if he was wearing white again."
Giggling, she flopped down on the couch. "Daddy looks like a ghost when he wears white."
"Because he has no fashion sense."
"That's because he's a man. And men don't worry about things like that."
Diana deepened her voice and wagged her finger. "At least that's what he tells me."
Luna laughed. "Well, Pluto managed to get him into blue."
"Pluto can get people to do amazing things. I just can't wait to see daddy dance. I never get to go to balls in Crystal Tokyo, it's always past my bedtime." Diana pouted just at the thought of it.
"Do you want to come to this one?" she asked with a tilt of her head.
"Can I really?" Leaping off the couch she hugged Luna. "Then daddy can dance with me too!"
She hugged Diana. "We'll have to get you a dress. Now, what do you want?"
"May I have a glass of milk? I'm not very hungry, it was almost bedtime when I came here." Diana asked politely, but despite it almost being bedtime, the young girl wasn't tired. She was excited and alert.
"Of course you can. It's not even close to bedtime yet. Would you like to stay here with me?" Luna asked as she went to get her daughter a glass of milk.
Following Luna into the kitchen, she thought for a moment. "Weren't you working when I came? Shouldn't you get back?"
"I think it's alright that I take the time off to take care of my daughter." she said turning to hand Diana the glass of milk.
"Thank you. But I could help you at work today, or we could go find something to do. It's a beautiful day, we should find someone to spend it with." She slowly drank the milk, being careful not to spill any on herself.
"Maybe we can go see if we can find Pluto." Luna suggested as she put the milk away.
"Okay!" Diana stood on her toes to reach the sink to wash her now empty cup. "Is she working?"
"She should be." she smiled, glad that her daughter was here.
After drying her hands, Diana was ready to go. Noticing Luna's smile, the young girl returned it. "I'm ready."
"Let’s go then." Luna said as she headed for the door.
Following after her, Diana reached for her mother's hand, holding it again.
She squeezed Diana's hand as they walked towards the store that Pluto worked in.
As soon as the clothing store was in sight, Diana let go of Luna's hand to race towards it. Opening the door, a smile on her face she called out. "Pluto!!"
Luna shook her head. She gathered her skirt and ran after her daughter. "Diana!"
Pluto blinked as she saw Diana running towards her, surprised at seeing the young girl there. "Diana? What are you doing here?
The young earth-born Mauian hugged Pluto tightly. "I was brought here. Now I'm on vacation with mommy, daddy and the rest of you." Leaning in closer, she whispered. "Mommy said I could go to the Valentine's Dance."
The black haired woman sighed and then smoothed out her skirts. "She's quite a bundle of energy right now."
Pluto hugged the Mauian girl, smiling at her and then up at Luna. "I'm sure she's just glad to see all of us here. Diana is a good girl, most of the time. Do you want me to find a dress for her that is similar in style to what I found for Hotaru?"
"That would be wonderful." Luna said walking over and placing a hand on Diana's head.
Diana gave them both a sheepish look, before smiling at them. "Hotaru's going to the dance?"
Pluto smiled and nodded, "Yes, Diana. Hotaru is going to the dance. She is wearing a purple dress, but I think you should wear something in a lighter color."
"Whatever you think, Pluto. I trust your judgment." Diana smiled at the guardian, knowing that she would pick the perfect dress.
Luna moved to sit down, knowing Diana was well taken care of at the moment.
Pluto headed into the formal dress section, looking around for something that she thought Diana would look good in.
Taking a seat next to Luna, Diana waited for Pluto to return. Even as she sat there, the young girl struggled not to fidget, like she'd been taught. "How long have you been here, mommy?"
"Several months now..."Luna replied.
"How long has daddy been here?" Diana wondered what the others thought of the missing members. How Usagi-sama would be without Luna to help guide her.
"Your father's been here a lot longer than I have... You would have to ask him." Luna said gently.
"I see. Several months is already a long time for vacation, and daddy's been here longer than that. He must really have the time to take off. Good thing Minako's already here." Diana replied.
"Yes, it is a good thing." she said glancing at Pluto quickly before stroking Diana's hair.
Pluto came back a few minutes later with several dresses, all of them suitable for a young girl going to a formal dance. They were similar styles, in various pale colors.
Getting up from the seat, Diana smiled. "All of those? Do I get to try them on?"
Pluto chuckled, smiling softly. "Yes, you can try them on. I think your mother should decide on what dress you should wear."
"Okay. I'll go try them on then." Holding her arms out for the dresses, the young girl smiled.
Pluto handed the dresses over to Diana, sitting down next to Luna once they were out of her hands. "I saw that Usagi showed up as well."
"What? Our Princess?"
Pluto nodded, "She posted on the journals that she was here."
"Oh my... I should go find her..."
As much as she wanted to stay and listen, Diana knew that if she tried on the dresses that she could find out more information faster. Moving into the dressing room, she pulled on the first dress, coming out to model it.
"Maybe when we're done here, we can all go look for Usagi-sama. She probably shouldn't be left alone for long." Diana twirled, showing them a pale pink dress that Pluto had given them.
Pluto smiled, liking the look of the pink dress on Diana. "Perhaps. I think she should not be left alone for too long with some of the people here."
"I like that dress sweetie." Luna said with a smile, "And I agree with that Pluto."
Diana smiled. "Then should I get this one?"
"I think the dress looks cute on you, Diana. If your mother approves of it, I think you should get that one."
"I think the dress looks lovely. I'm sure Artemis would agree."
"Okay! Then let's get it. Daddy would agree that anything looks good so he wouldn't have to be here. Then we can go find Usagi-sama!" Diana smiled, going back into the dressing room to change out of the dress. Once done she exited the room, carrying all of the dresses, unsure of what to do with the unwanted ones.
Pluto laughed, deciding to not tell Luna or Diana what Artemis thought of having to come in and get a suit. Neither one of them really needed to know that. "We should check at the school or the arcade for Usagi."
"Diana was on top of the hot springs changing rooms." Luna said standing up. She took the dress from her daughter.
"Maybe I ended up there because you were there, mommy. That way you'd be sure to find me." The young Mau theorized.
"Maybe sweetie." she smiled warmly.
Pluto smiled, going over to put the pink dress's information in the computer. "Let's go find Usagi, then. She might be in the arcade first, and if she is, we will need to rescue young Naoe."
Usagi was indeed in the arcade. Furiously playing away at the game while she tried talking herself into some good advice. It usually helped if Luna was there though. Her little black cat companion was always the voice of reason before Usagi ever was.
"Would you mind if we left the dress here?" Luna asked, "I can send Artemis by to pick it up later this evening."
Pluto shook her head, "Not at all. I can put it in the back so you can pick it up later."
Diana looked up at Pluto. "Are coming with us? Or do you have to watch the shop?"
"Alright. Meet us at the arcade? Which I'm sure that's where our Princess is."
Pluto nodded, smiling to Diana. "I have to take care of your dress, but I will meet you at the arcade. I promise."
"Come on Diana, lets go find Usagi."
The young girl nodded, leaving the shop first, holding the door open for her mother.
Luna smiled and stepped outside. She then headed towards the arcade.
The sounds a video game could be heard even from outside of the store, as Usagi thoroughly attempted to be the high scorer. Her schoolbag lay forgotten up against the side of the machine, as per usual. A tongue was stuck between her lips as she concentrated on the game.
Diana looked up at her mother. "I think it's safe to assume she's there."
"I think so to." Luna said with a smile. She then stepped into the arcade. "Usagi." the black haired woman chided.
The blonde was so caught up in the game that she didn't even hear the familiar voice. Instead her natural instinct kicked in. "Just a minute, Luna."
Diana, of course, followed her mother into the arcade. Eyes widening at the sight of Usagi practically pounding on the arcade game.
"Usagi!" Luna said more firmly.
Pluto came into the arcade a few minutes after Luna and Diana did, sighing at seeing Usagi pounding at the game. "You'll scare young Nagi if you keep that up.
Usagi turned away from the game, her hands folded like she was getting scolded. "I'm sorry, Luna." She paused. "Luna? Pluto?" Blue eyes widened. "Luna, is that you? You look..." She failed for words as she saw Luna's human form for the first time. Of course Minako had told her of Artemis' human form, but she had never seen it for herself.
Luna crossed her arms over her chest and gave her young Princess a look.
She sighed. "Yeah, it's you. No one else can give me that look." It only took a brief second before the blond was attached to her mentor. "Luuuna! I missed you! Where have you been?"
Luna laughed and hugged Usagi. "I've been here Usagi..." She said softly.
Usagi pulled away from Luna, wiping away her tears. "We've been looking for you all for two weeks. We thought something had happened to you."
"Two weeks? Usagi, I've been here for months." Luna said glancing at Pluto.
Pluto sighed, "Time has no meaning here. This place does not follow the normal laws of time and space, much like my post at the Gate. However, I have no idea where this place is."
Diana piped up from beside her mother. "I got taken from Crystal Tokyo, so I think this island could be like neutral ground. Something that not even Pluto can describe."
Blue eyes blinked as she looked at the little girl. "Oh...she's so cute! Is this Diana?" Usagi asked this to Luna, who she wasn't used to looking up to see.
"Yes, that's Diana. Artemis and Minako are here. So is Uranus, Neptune and Hotaru."
Usagi breathed a sigh of relief. "I'm glad you guys are safe. We were all looking for you back home. We thought something evil had taken you all." Usagi picked up her bag, sorely tempted to return to the video game. Yet when her stomach rumbled, she grinned sheepishly. "Guess it must be dinnertime for me."
