When: A few hours after Venus and Star Maker spar
Where: Taiki's hut
Rating: G
Warnings: None that I can think of?
Notes: None
Summary: Holding good on her promise from their wager, Taiki makes Treize dinner.

Taiki wrapped a bandage around her arm where Venus had kicked her. The pressure from the kick, coupled with the arm bands she had... It had broken the skin. Adjusting her shirt, she went into the kitchen to check on the meal she was making for Treize.

Checking the time, Treize realized he was early. He took his time walking over.

She shut the oven, having learned the meal she was makin was similiar to pot roast, whatever that was. She only had a slim knowledge of Earth cooking and it was limited to Japanese cuisine.

Treize made his way up the steps and knocked on the door.

Drying her hands on a towel, she depoisted onto the counter and walked over to the door. Making sure the bandage didn't show, she opened it.

"Good evening," he said with a smile.

"Good evening." She replied with a smile, stepping to one side to allow him in.

"Something smells wonderful," he said. He handed her a single rose. "For the hostess." He smiled.

Shutting the door, she took the rose, blushing lightly. "Thank you." Taiki walked into the kitchen to put the rose into a small vase.

He clasped his hands behind his back, following her.

Setting the vase down, she picked up a glass of wine. Only it didn't look like anything from Earth. It was a pale blue color. "Try it." she said handing it to him.

Treize was momentarily intrigued by the color. He sniffed it, swirled it slightly in the glass, then carefully took a sip.

"I've been told it tasts like blueberries." She said with a shrug.

"It does," he said. "Interesting. I like it."

"It's my favorite from Kinmoku." Taiki smiled. "I'm making something akin to pot roast. I don't know how to describe it."

"That's fine," Treize said. "I know what a pot roast is." He chuckled.

She smiled and nodded.

He sat down with the wine.

Taiki checked the few pans ontop of the stove and then walked over to the table with her own glass of wine.

"How have you been?" he asked her.

"I've been well." She replied with a soft smile. "The hut change was unexpected."

"Yes, it was. We've been settled for so long..."

"It was nice being settled into that..." She said before taking a sip of her wine.

Treize nodded. "I suppose that's why we were changed."

"We've also had a few new residents appear." She set her wine glass down.

Treize nodded. "There was a hut added as a result."

She nodded in agreement.

"Have you met any of the new residents, yet?"

She shook her head. "Other than Alberich, no."

"Same for myself." He looked thoughtful. "I'd like to."

Taiki nodded and smiled gently.

He took another sip of the wine.

She allowed herself to relax a bit, careful of her injured back.

"What were you doing today?" he asked casually.

"Not much." She replied, "Spoke with Miss Aino and Artemis."

"I heard Miss Hotaru has come into her powers as a Guardian," Treize said.

"She did."

"Is everyone alright?"

"Yes and no." Taiki looked down, as if she was hidding something.

He studied her. "Taiki..."

"Yes?"

"You had better not be hiding something."

"Saturn's powers are Death and Rebirth. They resonate closely with chaos' and Miss Pluto's the most. Mine only resonate with half of her powers."

He nodded. "So, in otherwords, you're feeling her change."

She nodded. "It's been hard... Ever since she came into her powers a little over three weeks ago."

"Is there something wrong that it's causing so much trouble?" he asked.

"Her powers are fluxuating, trying to settle." Taiki got up to go check on the food, "She only awakens when the world needs to be... Well, reset."

"Does this world need to be reset...?" Treize asked.

Taiki shrugged. "No idea."

"Hm."

She sighed and took the dish out of the oven, wincing as it pulled her bruised arm muscles.

"Do you need help?" he asked, watching her somewhat stiffer than normal movements.

"No, I have it." She set the dish ontop of the counter, rubbing one arm absently.

He just nodded, keeping an eye on her anyway.

She rubbed her arm again. "One moment." She then walked over to the bathroom to get some aspirin.

He sipped his wine, waiting for her return.

She walked out of the bathroom, having taken three pills with a glass of water.

He watched her.

"Yes Treize?" She asked with a polite smile.

"Just making sure." He smiled at her knowingly.

"Of what?" Taiki returned to the kitchen.

"That you're as alright as you claim to be."

She squirmed a bit and bit her lip.

"Yes?"

"It's just a few bruises and cuts."

"From what?"

"I sparred with Miss Aino. Both of our powers have been out of our control, and her last attack hit me harder than she expected."

"I see." He nodded. "That's understandable. Injuries can happen in training. Just as long as it was merely sparring." He chuckled a bit.

She nodded. "That's all it was." Taiki assured her friends before getting plates and silverware out.

Treize nodded. "Very well. Are you sure you don't need any help?"

"I'm sure." the auburn haired woman said. She was getting a bowl out of the cabinet with her arm muscle's spassamed. She winced, dropping the bowl, one hand clutching her arm.

Treize was there surprisingly fast. "What is it?" he asked, gently taking her arm in his hands.

"My arm... The muscles."

Treize found the offending spasm and proceeded to carefully and gently massage it out.

Taiki sighed softly as the spasm began to alleviate. "I'm sorry."

"No need to apologize," he said.

"It'll be alright in a minute..."

He nodded.

"Hopefully the aspirin will help." she relaxed a bit,

"Most likely," he said, feeling the spasm alleviate. He released her arm.

Taiki smiled and then knelt down to pick up the broken pieces of the bowl.

Treize moved to help her.

"You don't need to help me."

"I want to," he told her.

She nodded and took the pieces over to the garbage.

He dumped the pieces he had picked up as well.

"Now go sit down."

"Alright..." Treize smiled a bit and returned to his seat.

She smiled and then took the opened bottle of wine out to the table. Going back into the kitchen, Taiki prepared two plates and brought them out. She set one plate in front of Treize.

"Thank you," he said.

"You're welcome." She took her seat after setting down her plate, "I hope you like it."

Treize waited until she was settled before taking his first bite.

Taiki smiled happily and then began to eat her food.

Treize nodded. "This is very good," he said.

"I'm glad you like it."

He smiled.

She smiled back before continuing to eat her food. After they finished their meal, Taiki looked at Treize.

Treize looked rather satisfied. "That was wonderful," he said. "Thank you."

She smiled, blushing. "I'm glad you liked it. I wasn't sure how you'd take to food from my world."

"I'm always willing to try new things," he said.

Taiki nodded.

He smiled at her. "I hope it came out the way it was supposed to," he then teased her. "After all, I'm not sure how it's supposed to taste on your world."

"It tasted close." She replied with a gentle smile, "But I was missing certain spices."

"Perhaps we should try and find equivalents," he suggested.

"Yes, that would be good."

He nodded.

Taiki smiled softly. She stood up to clear the table.

Treize watched for a moment. "Do you need help?"

"Sure." She looked over her shoulder at Treize.

He nodded and got up to help.

The Guardian carefully placed the dishes into the sink, then turned the water onto warm.

"What do you need me to do?"

"If you could put the left over food into some tupperware, that would be lovely." Taiki replied as she began to wash the dishes.

"Alright." He went looking for and found containers, then started putting it away.

Smiling, she then continued to wash the dishes, setting them in the drying rack next to the sink.

He finished putting away the leftovers.

She finished the dishes and dried her hands.

"Thank you for dinner," he said. "It was excellent."

"I'm glad you liked it Treize. It was fun to cook dishes from my world again."

"You should more often," he suggested.

"I think I will."

He smiled. "You'll have to invite me over for some tasting."

"That I don't mind." She smiled warmly.

He nodded. "Then it's a date," he said. "Next time you feel like cooking, just let me know." He chuckled.

"I will let you know. I enjoy being around you Treize."

"And I, you, Taiki," he said.

She nodded and tucked some hair behind her ear. "I must be less of a mystery now."

"Somewhat," he said with a chuckle. "I would hope I am for you as well."

"You are."

He smiled.

Taiki smiled in return, clasping her hands in front of her. "It's getting rather late Treize..." Taiki started, feeling her power starting to fluxuate again.

"Yes, it is." He nodded.

She smiled weakly. "You should probably go."

"Probably." He smiled a bit. "Thank you again."

"You're welcome. Remember, you're always welcome."

He took her hand for a moment, giving it a light kiss. "Take care," he said.

"You too." She replied with a smile.

With that, he smiled at her and left for the evening.
