So Marcus and I were watching Friends tonight, and we watched the episode where Ross discovers that the "make-out spot" is in the library in the paleontology section, where his dissertation is shelved. Naturally, this sparked a conversation about places at Emory that could potentially be "make-out spots". We were brainstorming (the library stacks, Cox Hall bell tower, the planetarium, and the racquetball courts were just a few that made our list, lol), and suddenly Marcus says "THE CARREL!" For those who don't know, the carrel is this teeny little office-like space in the DUC (student center) where APO (along with 3 other organizations) stores random crap. You have to get a key from the info desk to get into the carrel, and to get the key, you have to be on the list of members of one of the organizations that uses the carrel. So obviously, the door locks. There's also a lot of random surfaces in there (chairs, countertops, bookcases, etc.). ANYWAY...the more I thought about it, the more convinced I became that it was DEFINITELY a hotspot for APO couples, and a) I can't believe I never thought of this before, and b) EWWWWWWWWW - thinking of all the couples that might have/possibly/PROBABLY fooled around in there, especially when I think about how much time I spent in there looking at scrapbooks and stuff! EW! *shudders* I really wanted to ask someone about this who could give me confirmation of this theory, but nobody was online, so I'm posting it in here. Even though I'm about 99.9999999% sure that nobody who reads this regularly ever used the carrel for such purposes! I'm hoping to direct some other people to this entry to confirm or deny what I am now officially dubbing The Carrel Theory.
...EW.
