Neither the expensive hotel at the tournament nor the old hotel at Cedar Point had convenient internet access. Therefore I could not bore you lot with my bridge adventures (got to play with a couple of cute folks who are also better players than I am), or my coaster reviews (Maverick's drop is too short to be worth waiting 2+ hours when Millenium Force has under an hour wait), or my medical issues (the bridge partner of a friend wrote me a script after seeing me failing to cope with withdrawal). Also, I remained happily unspoiled until I got home yesterday to find my copy of the (UK) Harry waiting for me. I read it in under 24 hours, as might be expected.
Am very pleased to see that themes developed in earlier books were continued. Was not displeased by the writing, although am still trying to figure out how Draco's wand could be the real Elder Wand and how the Sorting Hat both got fried and was around to sort the next generation. Was NOT PLEASED to see Severus killed off, and am determined to live in a happy state of denial in which Severus Apparated to San Francisco or Tahiti just before being fed to Nagini and sent his memories to Harry by owl post. Am totally unconvinced that "our Victoire" is female, pronouns be damned. Further reflections may follow, but not tonight, as tonight there is Chinese food and yet more bridge.
