I installed debian on my mum's machine lastnight, since windows is giving her such trouble.  For the first time ever, I let the installer do its thing instead of tweak everything the way it should be (ie, fvwm, etc).  Gnome *looks* quite slick.  It even does some things correctly.  It's a tentacled mess of undocumented crap, however I didn't let ( Read more... )
