I suppose the "big gift" - despite it technically being also *free* as it's an upgrade to the very old existing - is my new cell phone. :D It's beeyootiful and it takes pictures/videos and plays songs and has the tiniest memory card in existence that I shall worry about losing LOL. *wriggles excitedly* I already put all my phone numbers in it (I don't have that many, as these things go) and have figured out how to text message. Though speaking of, if you'd texted me between yesterday afternoon and about two hours ago, I didn't get it (i.e., if you got no answer, I got no text). They were supposed to wait to deactivate the existing phone until the mother called today to activate the new one, but it apparently went offline yesterday. *eyeroll* Still, ze new is all functioning and had been set up in-store so that it was essentially plug-&-play. I have a photo of Nibbs that I took set as the wallpaper! There was also a cute little red leather case for it. Whee! Who knew I'd ever get so excited over a damn phone?!
First, the purple! I got these gorgeously soft, warm, fuzzy deep purple pyjamas. They are ace - or they will be, once they have been washed and cease shedding fuzz! I also got a couple of pairs of vitamin E and aromatherapy oil-infused fuzzy socks in my stocking, one pair of which is lavender - both scent and colour. (The others are mint and orange.) And then one of my sparklies is a wee Christmas bell pendant, the "bell" portion of which is a faceted purple crystal. It was quite funny to put it on all at once. Not so funny now that I have purple fuzz stuck all over, but whatever.
There was the stuff I knew about already: pyjamas; socks; underwear (one pair a gorgeous orange! :D); snacks; brooch/unpierced earrings set; silver moon & stars earrings; Starbucks gift card; CAA membership renewal; wee milk steaming pitcher for espresso machine; Baileys - though it came with a very nice glass Irish coffee mug this year, w00t. I wish they'd bring back those curvy glasses they had for several years in a row in the 90s; those were the best glasses ever and I broke all mine. :P There was also a lovely blue and white handmade pottery mug that I had *hoped* I was getting - I fell in love with it at one of the craft shows the mother and I went to, and I thought that might have been where she went when we split up so I could go get her organic chocolate body scrub. *laughs* We shop strangely together but it works.
The stuff wot was a surprise from the parents: phone, obviously; Tiny Tinsel Towners, a set of four mini Opi nail polishes from their Hollywood collection. Well, the early-gifted chair was also a surprise. Funny, almost everything from them was expected or semi-expected but I love the gifts! It's like, I know I'll be getting at least one pair of pyjamas every Christmas, but I don't know what they'll look like so it's still fun. :D
From the Nan, who is not supposed to be buying gifts anymore but apparently felt like a rebel this year: a 'circle of eternity' necklace that's a bit different from the currently ubiquitous style in that it's a double circle. The inner one has the cubic zirconia and the outer is simple hammered silver.
And then there was the package of awesome from
looking_spiffy, which demonstrated a total lack of ADD and was jammed full of British things and sparkly cosmetics and inside joke-related items (I need to paint my toenails now!); an exquisite heart pendant/necklace; and DVDs. I'm not sure if it was the
BPAL scents that I'd said I coveted madly but couldn't justify buying for myself or the Matchbox Twenty Storytellers DVD that I'd been unable to find since it went out of print that made me cry, but tak, dear, so much. ♥ ♥ ♥ The 'Glorious Britain' calendar has been co-opted to pride of place in the kitchen, btw; I do believe the dad might love it even more than I do! I may even summon enough courage to wear the 'I ♥ BUMSEX' button out of the house someday. :P Perhaps whilst wearing the Blood Kiss scent, because damn, I smell fabulously sinful!
C and I are meeting up later in the week to exchange gifts - she's still working retail, so she's been a wee bit busy, and I told Jeff not to get me anything as her work situation's been somewhat precarious lately, and that's everything! My godfamily all goes together on the Amazon.ca gift cert I mentioned yesterday which again, is a non-surprise gift that makes me very, very happy.
And there you have it, my haul this year, lol. Dinner is in about 45 minutes: potato pie, pasta salad, lobster and lobster bisque. We already had the shrimp cocktail this afternoon and a proper (and rare) fry-up for breakfast, accompanied by Kahlua-laced coffee and thence Kahlua and cream. I had a pretty good buzz going before noon. *giggles* Yes, I know that's highly untraditional but we're allergic to turkey, man. No bird for us. The mother decided on some brand new stuff this year and having had a bowl of bisque when I came in last night, it's yuuuummmmmmy. :D
