Aunt Norma's Butter Cookies

Dec 05, 2007 16:06

Not *my* Aunt Norma, but rather my tech-lead Jeanne's Aunt Norma. Jeanne brought in a tray of Christmas Cookies to the office and included some really yummy "cut-out sugar cookies" I thought they had a lovely flavor and so asked for the recipe...

AUNT NORMA'S BUTTER COOKIES

Cream Together:
1 c butter
1 1/4 c sugar

Then add:
2 beaten eggs
1 tsp vanilla

Sift together:
2 3/4 c. flour
1 t baking powder
1 pinch salt

Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix gently (do not overmix)

Roll out thin, sprinkle with decorations, and bake at 350-375 degrees.

Notes:

Jeanne says they don't have to be rolled out thin, she just prefers them that way.
Omit the sprinkles if you wish to ice them later.
Do not overmix, or they get tough
