Apple Crisp

4-6 cups apples, peeled and sliced (Jonagold are good)
1/3 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup wheat flour
3/4 cup brown sugar (scant)
3/4 cup old-fashioned oats
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 t nutmeg

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Layer apples in glass baking dish (8x8 or 9x9 for this recipe, can double recipe and put in 8x12 dish. Mix butter, flour and brown sugar until lumpy. Add oats, cinnamon and nutmeg. Mix well. Press over apples. Bake for 30 minutes or until apples are soft and bubbly.
