(no subject)
I may have mentioned to some of you that my mom has been really sick for the last year. What started out as intermittent diverticulitis attacks (searing pain from infections caused by food getting trapped in small pockets in your intestine - aka what Dolly had a couple of weeks ago) turned near constant. She was on non-stop antibiotics, heavy pain medication, and a very restricted diet as they tried to break the infection. Every day and all activity was dictated by her pain level. Finally the doctors decided that infection or no, it was worth the risk to operate and remove the troubled/abscessed section. That surgery was yesterday. It took twice as long as they expected, but she's fine. Here is the weird part though. Once they got her open they discovered that she never had diverticulitis. She'd swallowed a toothpick, whole. All her pain and illness has been caused by her body's futile attempts at getting the sharp stick out of her.
HOW THE HELL DOES SOMEONE SWALLOW A TOOTHPICK AND NOT KNOW IT??? WTFBBQZORZ!
Once she is healed up and back home, the massive amounts of mocking will commence. Oh yes.
