Dear self,
You are getting increasingly hungry and are clearly not going to get anything more done tonight on campus. You have to be home by 8:00 to talk to your siblings (and dear wee sis Morgayne is back in action, by the way) anyway, so it makes sense to leave. I know the terrifying prospect of teaching tomorrow makes even actions as small as prying yourself out of your chair seem insurmountable, but standing up and gathering your stuff for the walk home is as doable a baby step as you're going to find right now. And since you're going to have to shepherd yourself gently into preparing for class tomorrow no matter where you are, you might as well start by going home to do it. And while you're inching into preparing for class, rereading your dissertation proposal with an eye out for bits you can poach in your next round of fellowship applications is another doable baby step you should probably carry out. Paralysis is a legitimate reaction to stress but it is only going to make things worse in the long run.
Love,
Me
P.S. Life will be better this time tomorrow. Just hang in there.
