The Paisley Beer Festival opened last night. A wee group of us had a good time sampling various ales, and in reasonable comfort since (as it was the first night) it was pretty quiet. First thing I did was head for the foreign beers bar to get some Klein Duimpje Honing Porter, a delicious beer which I think I missed out on last year as it had run ( Read more... )

We went on a visit to the Iceni brewery when we were on holiday in Norfolk about 5 years ago. The honeyed stout and the Deirdre of the Sorrows light ale were particularly memorable.

Neither of those were on offer at Paisley, unfortunately (honeyed stout sounds my thing). As well as the two I mentioned they had Elveden Forest Gold, Fine Soft Day and Fen Tiger.
