On Saturday, the Tour of California had a great showing. And Discovery lost a powerhouse. But not until the finishline. Big George Hincapie went down in a crash with Tony Cruz after Cruz brushed against Ivan Basso (all riders for Team Discovery). Let's see yesterday on Tour of Cali was one battle after the other, all day long. Leipheimer looked in top form. The team Discovery kept him in the front of the Peloton, but when it came time to kick it on the cat 1 climb, he pulled it out by himself, catching up the breakaway. I tell you, Dave Zabriski (CSC) has got some hideous luck. There was big crash 10K to go in the tour of California today that took him out. He was taken to the hospital with a suspected broken wrist, but the x-ray was negative. Also took down GC#1 Leipheimer (Discovery) and #2 Jason Donald (Slipstream). So at ungodly hour of the night (ok midnight, which isn't late for me), ESPN2 has been showing the Amgen Tour of California. I'm swear sometimes I only watch it as an excuse to hear "big george hincapie". He won stage 2 today. Weeee. And took over the overall lead from Levi Leipheimer.
