I declare this semester a time for bento adventures! I blame
abbers44, the fact that I actually need to pack lunches for work, and the cuteness of it all. So I broke down and bought a bunch of bento supplies.
My bento looks nothing like this...
The bento box I bought came with an adorable lunchbag and chopsticks.
Cute, red, two tiered bento box (+ extra tier for napkins/chopsticks)
Teriyaki beef, white rice, roasted seaweed, & clementines. Not bad considering I could only use the ingredients immediately available in my apartment due to the raging snowstorm outside. I was originally going to cut the seaweed into cute shapes, but I was hungry and my skills were lacking.
This picture features the adorable fish-shaped sauce containers with extra teriyaki in it for the rice and beef. Yes, I realize that it was kind of pointless that I made a bento to eat at home, but it was a snow day and I was excited to get started!
So yeah, there's plenty of things I want to try! Right now I'm sort of viewing bento like a deconstructed burrito, so I want to do a Mexican-themed bento next, and then maybe a Mediterranean bento after that. I will keep you updated!
P.S. One of my first public posts! Extreme!
