Cooked up a bunch of pears and made puree.  I put as much into my crock pot as would fit, and the rest is in the fridge to be added to the crock pot later tomorrow when there's room enough to add the rest.  Heh.  I sorted out the rest of the pears that are in good enough shape to cut into halves and quarters to stuff into quarts with a simple syrup ( Read more... )

Being able to eat muddie buddies and ice cream for dinner, and nobody to stand over your shoulder and tell you that's not a balanced meal. 

Alright, it's 5:15 on Christmas Eve. We were awakened this morning by the sound of the hand mixer in the kitchen. More cooking already? Yeah. I just went out and bought 5 pounds of white asparagus.

Now.. What to do with it? Muahahahahaha

I just placed an order to pick up tomorrow, for $50 worth of Kimball Farms ice cream.

So I went to my weight in yesterday and was down another 0.2 pounds. Considering the eating out I did, and it was my birthday, so there were *3* birthday cakes during the week, plus ice cream (and it's nigh on impossible to refuse cake for your own birthday celebrations). Alright, we're home and exhausted! Got up at 6:30AM and packed our stuff and went over to my office at 7:40. Devin and Danielle got there just ahead of us. Climbed on the bus, and off we went. What a nice and quiet weekend at home. I was supposed to get up and go to this town yard sale on Saturday morning, but with the rain and the wind, and the need to get up at 6AM to go, my warm comfy bed took precedence. Stayed there.
