I've just come back from divine service at the chapel in my hospital. Originally I had planned to partake in the divine servide at 10:30 this morning at a little church in Dresden which had been recommended to me by an american christian I know, but I overslept this morning. So I was just glad to know that at my hospital was another service, at 18:45. It all turned out to be good, the service was very very good. And although I really lean protestant evangelical in my beliefs I must say that so far I really love the catholic songs more in the church. And that doesn't even refer to the gregorianic songs which I really like very much, just the average songs in the german catholic song book are all also very good. Though it may be that I like them so much because in the hospital chapel we either sing the songs without the backing of instruments or with the backing of only an acoustic guitar. I really don't like these small protestant village church organs .. their sound is so loud and even seems rough to me. I made a conspiracy with the girl that played the guitar ... next week I'm gonna accompany her with another guitar which I'm gonna play like a bass guitar.

One other reason why I liked the service so much was the chaplain who led us through it. He is a thin man of medium height, a gentle and careful man. I only wished more people would go talking to him. I like so much being around him, and it's soothing to recognize his "quiet" attitude in the service, and the good taste he shows.

I closed the evening with a beer with another patient in a nearby cellar pub. I like the guy, he's only 18 but appears much older when one talks to him. He's got a ton of problems though ... I wished I could help him a bit more.
