Insurance-Auto: Bought a mid-range 2016 Kia Soul Plus last Thursday, which has a few more bells and whistles that I need to figure out. So... it looks like I will be moving this November or December as local rent increases are vastly out-pacing my annual raises. Of course, if I move far enough out that I can afford the rent, the addition gas I need to purchase to get to work will bump me out of the affordable range again. It's kind of a catch twenty-two. Just received my annual review and I will be getting a raise, in the industry standard range which I have no complaints about. Unfortunately my rent is still going up faster than my raises and I'm probably going to have to move this December as I can't afford to live where I am anymore without a roommate ( Read more... )

My apartment manager, who is generally awesome, just gave me a heads-up that my lease renewal is going to be mailed to me within the next couple of weeks... and it's going to include a rent increase of more than $100 a month. Got home from work tonight to find a notice on my door stating that my rent lease is up for renewal. It appears that my rent is going to increase from $605 a month to $655 (or $705 if I want to go month-to-month without a lease).
