Using the rush of water escaping from the faucet to hide the sound of his steps he sneaks into the bathroom, placing a plain white box on the folded towel, just as quiet he leaves return to the living room as if he never left. He smiles proudly at himself, almost ready to pat himself on the back, the bonus points for this one were in the hundreds he figures. At the stopping of the shower and the pulling open the curtain he sits at the edge of the chair, waiting with the patience of a six year on Christmas eve.
"Oh Pete it's beautiful!" That was his cue, calmly he walks back to the bathroom, to see his wife naked, still dripping with water turning a pearl necklace over and over in her hands.
"Here, let me put it on." He takes it from her hand, pausing for a fraction to rub his thumb across her palm, unclasps the hook before gently re-hooking it in the proper placement. Jackie turns to him to kiss him hard and firm, which is gladly returned. Water starts to mix with sweat at last they pull apart.
"So I take it you like it?"
"Absolutely." He smiles once more, knowing with that one word he escaped the dog house and sleeping on the couch for a fourth night.
"Good. Now where were we?" She giggles as if a teenager again as his mouth captures her once more.
