Happy New Year + Yuletide Reveal + 2008 fics
Happy New Year, everyone! Just came back from SF, more on that later. (There will be videos of me dancing in front of the Golden Gate Bridge and being an overall dork.)
yuletide !
For my recipient, I wrote Worth Every Moment, which is Laurence/Tharkay, with a side of Granby and Temeraire (not... together, lol). As a Yuletide treat, I also did Gonna Be Me, which hails from the crazy Tropic Thunder fandom, very fluffy Lance/Alpa, post-movie. I do plan for a more gen-centric continuation since I didn't get to finish the whole thing in time. ;)
I want to give internet-hugs and thanks for all the comments I got on both stories. They were really awesome and I think I literally glowed with joy. Thank you guys so much! This was my first time participating, I'll definitely come back next this (?) year! Excuse me for being slow with replies, I'm making my way to them. :D
Worth Every Moment
- ....was actually my second attempt at the story. My first one involved a hell of a lot more humor (and slapstick!!??), so I just cut bits off, added more logic, and made it less omgwtflol. Yeah. I'm still finishing my first try though; I liked it. xD
- My playlist while writing consisted solely of Uninvited by Alanis Morissette. Just that song. The lyrics, omg. I never even liked the song until I associated it with Laurence/Tharkay. *headdesk*
- Deniz is a Turkish name meaning “sea”. Ohohoho, so clever and witty, Tanya.
- While rereading IoE… Chenery and Little = most likely canon. I almost got derailed because I wanted to write them in. OHYA, BECAUSE THAT WOULD MAKE TOTAL SENSE.
- I received a few comments saying something about yenta!Granby and I didn't even know what a yenta was. Literary allusions fail me! But I know what a yenta is now. Thanks guys. xD

- The playlist was the entire *NSYNC discography, of course. And “I Love tha Pussy” by Alpa. Obviously.
- I actually started writing this after it came out in theaters, but I stopped because I couldn't remember what happened. When I saw the request, I picked it back up, sat on my head, and finished it.
- Well, almost finished it. I had an actual plot. I'm still writing. :x
- Title named after my 2nd favorite *NSYNC song, trufax.
- I number one fave is Makes Me Ill, but that wouldn't have made sense.
- My taste in music is excellent, I know.
I have also posted a fic round-up at my dumping journal. Every fic I wrote in 2008! (11!?) :O
