NaNo?

Anyone else contemplating doing NaNoWriMo?

I'm thinking I'm going to dust off one of my long term WIPs and get at least to the 1/2 or 3/4th mark on it. Probably my HP Book 7 rewrite because OMFG I am so beyond stuck on Wild Indigo. As in tear my hair out, cussing up a blue streak, annoyed beyond measure stuck. I do, however, love the first 1/4th

I do hope you continue you some of your writing. I've missed seeing your work. I hope you'll start sharing some soon -- even if it's some side stories.

I *have* been writing. I've just been working on my super long WIPs. And every time I start what's supposed to be a short ficlet, it either turns into angst-o-rama or some ridiculously long fic.

Maybe I *should* dust Charlie off and write a one-shot to Healing. Maybe something for Halloween. Hmmm...

I've been working on my super long WIPs for a long while sort of behind the scenes. I might try dusting off Charlie though and doing a one-shot to Healing. Sort of like a lost scene or something.

I am actually thinking about doing it this year. Not sure I can do it but trying to force myself to try to finish something.

Still wanting to read the Harry Potter rewrite.

NaNo is easy going at the beginning because you're all full of energy and excitement. It's around midway that it becomes a grind. I've done it three years and always found it to be an adventure.

The best advice I can give you is this -- outline, outline, outline. Not just a basic guide but write out little hints and ideas you have for specific scenes because, when you're in that writing zone, you don't always remember them. That and, if you get stuck on a scene, it's safe to jump backwards or forwards within the outline and work on something else.

The HP rewrite is getting there. I have several chapters finished, some still in bits and pieces, and some I haven't touched yet. Each chapter is so long I've had to create its own Word doc because it was taking too long to load as a whole. So maybe 7-10,000 words per chapter, and I have about 25 chapters or so planned. It going to be *massive*! And so dark. I'm loving writing some of these scenes!

Is word what you use to write in? I do everything long hand right now because I don't always have access to a computer.

I don't have an outline as such but I have reams of notes and character studies plus some random scenes. Mostly I think it will be crap when I do it but I want to pressure myself to actually stay with it.

You do dark fic better then most everyone else. i really wish i could do it as well because I enjoy reading it. Good luck on the Harry Potter story.

I use word because I type faster than I can hand write things. Word also has an instant word count which is super useful on those days where every single word is a struggle to get out

I'll finish and post Wild Indigo eventually. I just don't want to post it as is, still be stuck in writer's block hell, and have people asking where the next bit is. Too much pressure.
