Surfing American radfem blogs (knowyourenemy yadda yadda), I can never cease to be amazed over how people can think that the Swedish Model is a good thing. For those lucky enough to stay out of sex politics: it's when selling sex is allowed, but buying sex and pimping is forbidden. People link to articles like
Opposing Prostitution As a Form of Male Violence: the Swedish Model as if "the number of women in street prostitution has been reduced by two thirds, and the number of "johns" has been reduced by 80%" really meant something. Puh-lease. I'd laugh at that article and at people arguing for the Swedish Model, if the Swedish Model was in any way a laughing matter.
Anyway, I've also found a post called
Paranoia in Online Fandom: CMC, Girls' Aggression, and Overanalyzing the Texts. Haven't read it all yet, but sounds interesting and relevant to interests.
And
a Daily Mail article about how the Spice Girls ruined feminism. GIRL POWER!
