Pokemon White Nuzlocke Pt 9 Notes

Dec 30, 2011 20:38

on the road again, victory road is a giant pain in the ass~

  • Rerun and Java make good leads, kickin' ass and takin' names~
  • ....it occurs to me, with an attacking Zebstrika, that I have no ground moves. In addition, all of my party except for Willow and Rerun are either weak to Fire (Flame Charge) or Electric. FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUU-
  • Note to self: Thunder Wave triggers Motor Drive just as easily as any damaging Elec move would. FUUUUUUU TIMES TWOOOOOO
  • OKAY. BATTLE OVER. NOW, CAN ANY OF YOU HONKIES LEARN BULLDOZE? ...just Tank? Meh. Tank shouldn't be trying to soak up Sparks and Discharges. :|
  • CLIFFSLIDE TUTORIAL.
  • Captured L37 Heatmor at Victory Road. Nicknamed "Toasty"
  • Heading back to town to look at captured 'mon (My luck with Abilities has been shit, this run), reconsidering Willow's place on the team. Defenses are adequate, but HP is severely lacking, plus have to wonder just what she brings to the team. Hits on Ghost types, Psychics (which Pinchy has covered), Steels (which would be managed by Ground), Ice (Tank has coverage), Grass (Pinchy again) and Bug (Tank again). She's also my only special attacker. Stunfisk would cover Steel and low-SDef tanks, but its best non-egg-move Earth move for Special is Mud Bomb, which has shit accuracy and shit power. There's also no Ghost coverage. On the other hand, Golurk covers Steel and Ghost, learns Earthquake naturally (and at a level I'm approaching), and has Fighting moves to round out its repetoire, but can't do much at all to high-Def ghost types. Hnn.
  • Using my last Heart Scale, I reteach Megadeus Shadow Punch and pull him out. Considering how often my Chandelure failed me in my vanilla run, I don't trust Willow's power in the slightest. A Steelix could probably wall me pretty solidly now, but thankfully those aren't in Unova. I might have problems if an enemy runs an Escavalier, though.
  • ...now to level-grind Megadeus. It'll be worth it, though. Hold off on evolving for two levels, get Earthquake a whopping five levels early.
  • Megadeus evolved into Big O lurk moar Golurk!
  • Now back to the pain that is...OH GOD MY FACE. Er, I mean Victory Road. *stares as a Stoutland systematically tries to disembowel his ENTIRE TEAM*
  • *stares as the same Trainer has a Scolipede with a Flinchhax toxistall strategy. ARGH. So much hate.*
  • Three of my pokemon in critical health, one Toxic-poisoned... yeah. Imma gonna hate this.
  • "MY POKEMON, LET ME SHOW YOU THEM". Not the best way to introduce yourself, lady.
  • ...FUCK YOU, LADY.
  • LOST Megadeus to Veteran's Beeheeyem!
  • Of course you have a confusion-spamming Lilligant. FUCK YOU, LADY.
  • Using Megadeus's corpse to push boulders around is still legit by Nuzlocke rules in order to make the return trip shorter for when I return from town.
  • ...you planned this, Willow, I just know it. But since I don't have any better way to deal with Cofagrigus, I'm stuck with you now.
  • (Pulled Willow BACK out of storage. :|)
  • While I'm at it, I have a fair amount of money... some Full Restores for the road would not be a bad idea. 20 seems like a nice round number.
  • You know, having the three elemental monkies does not make you an "Ace" trainer. It makes you a scrub who knows the basic elemental rock-paper-scissors. You know, what they teach at the FIRST GYM.
  • FHSDFZv. "Scrafty is a fucking BEAST with Hi-Jump Kick" is a much more advanced lesson. And I just got schooled. :C
  • LOST Parrrsnips to Black Belt's Scrafty! :C
  • I switched in Parrrsnips in order to keep Willow from getting Dark-massacred. This damn Chandelure is AUTHENTICALLY TRYING TO KILL ME.
  • YOU CAN HEAL PARRRSNIPS' WOUNDS, MR. DOCTOR, BUT THE DAMAGE IS ALREADY DONE. T~T
  • Oh, look. A Terrakion.
  • PLAY BY PLAY: I accidentally have Pinchy in front instead of Rerun, but a quick switch-out changes that. (Rerun eats a Retaliate for his trouble). Sacred Sword brings Rerun to 11 HP, but he manages to successfully land a Thunder Wave and quickly gets switched back out for Pinchy. Terrakion loses a turn to Paralysis and then Helping Hand... and then Pinchy OHKOs it with Iron Head. ...oops. :C I FAIL WITH MY DERPINESS. (If I had caught him, for those who care, he would've been 'Boss Borot'. Alas, t'was not meant to be.)
  • If Victory Road kicked my ass THAT hard, then I have no damn chance against the league. ......I'm gonna need to train.

Saved at Pokemon League. 33:55. Lost 2 Pokemon: Megadeus (Golurk, L31-L45) and Parrrsnips (Pansage -> Simisage, L10-L46)

Instead of Pokemon stats, I'm gathering together a list of resources available to try to brainstorm what my final party should be. Feel free to not read if anyone still cares.
