Today I'm actually pissed off that I wasn't able to run a full mile without slowing down. Then I made the awful mistake of getting on the scale once I got home from the gym.

It's just not a good night all the way around.

I'm still trying to figure out how to get my mind into that "warm safe place" until the initial pain/fatigue fades away or until I can stop focusing on the distance display on the treadmill. The same place I put myself when I had seven IVs started at once, various teeth drilled on, countless other heart surgery/lung surgery/etc related crap.

Let's flash back to 1993, shall we? When climbing up a flight of stairs by the band room would require me to actually stop at the landing to catch my breath. Someone smack some sense into me and remind me that I've come a long way since then.
