There's a distinct possibility that I might be a horrible person. I met a girl the other day that, uh, honestly loves Dante's Cove and thinks it's an awesome show. Yes, that Dante's Cove. I might've... laughed in her face? A little? I was like, "But you do think it's hilarious, right? I mean, it's funny, how bad it is. Right?" And she just looked at me blankly. Then she got defensive. Oh my god, y'all. *hides*
So, I was feeling kind of guilty about the incident, but then I rewatched
this amazing vid by
greensilver and it helped make everything shiny again. And then yesterday
jarrow272 posted
some more evidence of the sheer awfulness of Dante's Cove, and I now feel vindicated. Beautiful. Thanks, guys.
Some other random vid recs, while I'm here:
American Baby by Luminosity. (Friday Night Lights) Gorgeous, gorgeous. I love the structure and editing of this vid; the colors soar, and the many characters of FNL weave seamlessly together into a big woven thing of awesome.
Big City Life by Lithium Doll. (Dark Angel) I loved this show, and I am not ashamed. Lithium Doll's vid shows the reasons why -- in fact, it digs into pretty much everything that was bone-deep awesome about Dark Angel. Sure, it had its dumb seasons moments, but damn. Whenever I watch this vid my heart swells, guys. We're talking Grinch sizes. So much love. Plus, the editing and effects are fantastic. (Look carefully, and you can spot Ambrosius from Dante's Cove! Oh, Zach.)
Chicago by talitha78. (Smallville) A lovely, vibrant look at season six, with bonus Clark/Oliver. It almost, for a brief moment, makes me wish I hadn't stopped watching Smallville... but then I realize that to satisfy that urge, I can just watch the vid again, and not have to put up with the reality of the show itself. Isn't that handy? Of course, if I had any guarantee that the show is currently as fun as this vid makes it look, I'd be back there in two seconds.
Recessional by Keely. (Dead Like Me) Reggie tries to find a connection with George after George's death; George tries to find a connection with Reggie after George's death, too. I love this vid, especially the way Keely draws out the thread of sisterhood, Reggie's search for meaning, George trying to make things better... heartbreaking. I miss this show.
And, from
