In light of the major hype about Lost coming back in five days, I decided to ask a couple of my friends why they liked (or disliked in a couple cases) Jate and then I thought, well, why not find out what the rest of my flist thinks about the subject

What I like about Jack and Kate is that by convention, they are a very unlikely couple, but in reality it's just one of those things that make sense. Even from the beginning, they gravitated toward each other and had a respect for each other that hasn't really waned at all.
On the other hand, Kate and Sawyer's pasts are nearly mirror images of each other, so they can relate to each other better than anyone else on the island. Sawyer always tries to hide his emotions behind crude remarks and sly smiles, but on the inside he's just as messed up as Kate is. So that's what makes sense to me about that ship.
And if you want to be picky about it, Jack/Kate AND Kate/Sawyer are both hot. That's what you get when you have pretty people. Caught In A Net Scene? HOT. Cage Sex? HOT. Either way, be it on an emotional level or on a more superficial level, both of those ships work.
I suppose I might've just said a bunch of nothing, but it all makes sense to me. I'm such an addict for that triangle it's ridiculous. I almost hope I never have to really choose.

It makes sense to me. The way I see it, Sawyer and Kate are more like good friends and Jack and Kate are more like soul mates.

Jate scenes make me all warm and fuzzy too. The Skater ones are fun - Sawyer has the best lines and his humor is just awesome, lol.
I think the writers are just messing with our heads. That's what they all do. They can't put the main couple together because the storyline dies. We need action, mistery, intrigue... to keep watching the show to see if they ever get together. That's how most of the shows are. [I'm a hardcore Luke/Lorelai shipper - Gilmore Girls - and that's what's happening there]
