Jate and some such

Feb 02, 2007 22:46

In light of the major hype about Lost coming back in five days, I decided to ask a couple of my friends why they liked (or disliked in a couple cases) Jate and then I thought, well, why not find out what the rest of my flist thinks about the subject ( Read more... )

I have reasons but I'm horrible at writing them down. I'll pimp the shit out of this though. I love to hear what people have to say about our little ship so this should be interesting!

Of course if I feel the need to add to other comments I will! My eyes will be glued to this for awhile...

Okay, I'll start one for us. This quote from JJ Abrams:

"You could put Jack and Kate on a NYC street, and have them pass each other at rush hour on a Wednesday morning, and they would stop and turn, slowing to watch each other go by. They know each other within the context of a universal recognition. They have met before in this life and they will meet again in another."

That's reason in itself.

Now, I'm hearing some comments on recent comments made by that Gregg guy on The Fuse.

He apparently said that Jack/Kate were the, "sensible" couple and that Sawyer accepted people for who they are and NOT for who he wants to be.

I'm sorry, but did I watch an entirely different show the 1st and 2nd season? I can't understand this sudden shift from Jack/Kate to Kate/Sawyer.

I understand that Kate/Sawyer have feelings for each other. Fine. But please, don't tell me all Jack wants from Kate is to fix her and make her all better, pat her on the back and say, "Okay, have fun little girl."

Sensible choice...give me a fucking break.

That makes me sick.

Jack probably wants to fix her but that's not all he wants from her. I think a part of him can see that in a way, she can fix him too and that's something he desperately needs. What with his marriage and his daddy issues and everything

Of course he wants to fix her, but it's not because he's a doctor and he's hell bent on saving everything and everyone. He cares for her, a lot...probably even loves her. You can see it in his eyes. In THEIR eyes.

I mean, c'mon, you can't say he doesn't feel anything for her when he looks at her like this...

And says things like "I didn't do it for him"

Now honestly, does that sound like he's just in it to "fix" her?

Answer: no

Just breathe and remember who is the ULTIMATE RELATIONSHIP!Gregg is just messing with our minds as always! One day he's pro jate, the day after he's pro skate.he's not answering questions, but creating more questions.he's just asking the same questions the fans are, and playing on words. The whole 'Jack wants to fix Kate' thing is s***.jack and kate have been built up to be RIGHT for each other.they are 'the promised couple' since day one.And this is not dawson's creek.it's Lost! so,if tptb built up those two to be together one day,it means that they have thought to a path for them that will make them grow, and change and (if someone thinks that they still aren't) that WILL make them RIGHT for each other.Jack is learning that he can't fix everything. We saw in I DO that he's now able to LET GO. Kate,on the other hand,is learning to not running.that's what lost is about.salvation. So you can like Jack's interactions with Juliet more,or Kate's interactions with Sawyer more, but Kate is always gonna be THE right one,for him and vice versa.it's ( ... )
