STAYING HOME TO DO WORK.

Dec 04, 2009 11:54

I took a sick day off at daycare today. I have two MAJOR assignments due next week and I just don't think I can get it all done in 1 day. I also have to work tomorrow so I won't have much time to work on them. I've already finished half of one assignment though and I just need to do the other half. However, I haven't started on my other one at all so I'll need the day to work on that and hopefully finish it up by Sunday. I feel so extremely guilty for calling in sick when I'm not, lol. Especially when I know the daycare is short on staff. I hope they can manage without me. But argh, I really need the day off to do my homework. It's funny how I never took any sick days off when I was actually sick, haha. But the daycare staffs are really nice and understanding. My teacher would even let me off early on Friday before my shift ends too. So I guess I shouldn't feel so bad about it. Afterall, I'm only a student and I have so much to do in life.

I opened my internet explorer this morning and this message alert popped up.

An important message about your Rogers Hi-Speed Internet Service.

Our record shows that your household has reached 75% of the 95GB monthly usage allowance provided by with your Rogers Hi-Speed Internet Extreme service.

You will receive another notification when you reach 100% of your monthly usage allowance.

HOLY CRAP!! O_O My brother and I just had a talk about this and it is IMPOSSIBLE that both of us has reached such a huge download in a month, it has never happened to us before. So we figured that it's probably due the all the internet streaming that my parents do when they sit down and watch Chinese dramas online on our TV for 10 HOURS a day! I swear, my parents are SO ADDICTIVE to watching dramas online all day ever since my brother hooked up the computer to our new HDTV and taught them how to watch stuff online with it. OMG. It is getting ridiculous. My parents are like GLUED to the TV. Sometimes I would be wondering why we aren't having dinner when it's 8pm already and I realize that my mom is too busy watching dramas online on the TV to even cook dinner! -_____-" My brother said if this continues, we might have to upgrade to another plan with 125GB monthly usage allowance. The only problem is that it'd cost us $80/month. And just to let you know, my parents don't pay for our internet bill. My brother and I pay for it. But $80 a month is too much for me to pay and I also have to buy the metropass ($96) myself every month to take the transit. Ugh, this is not working. My brother and I have decided to have a talk with my parents and tell them that they need to STOP watching dramas online so much!!! But I guess it's a bit difficult with my mom since she's kind of laid off from work at the moment, and she stays home pretty much 2-3 days of the week. But honestly, I don't know how my brother and I are going to manage this $80/month for internet. We might have to ask our parents to pay $10-20 a month since they're actually using it MORE than we do! LOL.

Anyway, I'm planning to do more ordering online. I want to get these two tops from a Japanese clothing website. I swear, this will be my LAST two online clothing order of the year. XD I can't afford to pay for shipping anymore, lol.

Minnie Mouse Parka Hoodie. They only have a M available for sale on the website. I'm not too sure how Japanese sizes work but I did a measurement and it doesn't seem too big. Hoodies still look great even if it's a bit big anyway. This cost about $30 CAD.

And otomodachi0409 helped me find this knit cardigan/sweater online that is similar to one that I blogged about wanting to get last month.

Cable knit cardigan sweater with pockets and hoodie with furs and pom poms.
It looks really warm! This cost about $35 CAD. Extremely cheap for the price since I'll probably never find anything as cheap as that here in Canada, and made in such material too.

I need to get started on homework after lunch now. Must make great use of my day off and be productive! =)
