Blogging for Books)
"DIY Type" by Dana Tanamachi was not quite what I had hoped for in terms of a craft resource book. A handful of pages at the beginning of the book discusses materials to use and very basic do-it-yourself projects, but the majority of the book is made up of removable stencils to use and nothing else. And while the photographs showing examples are nice to look at, there's hardly anything else in terms of detailed projects or step-by-step instructions. The overall layout of the book is well done but there's little else to grab my interest. The stencils are sturdy enough but lack real variety, and all of them except for one page are alphabetical letters. Useful if you need a couple of stencil sets but otherwise not worth adding to your shelf of craft and hobby books, in my opinion.
