The kids have been driving me nuts today. I am just thankful they all seem to be settled right now; of course I haven't checked- I'm avoiding it because I don't want to be anymore frustrated or angry. Elle went down the hall at 9:50 and Thomas' light was still on- it was supposed to be out at 9. He has a timer and it was set, he is responsible for turning his light out. He is usually very good about it and will ask if he wants a few more minutes to finish a chapter. I guess it's early to bed tomorrow and no reading for him-that's a bedtime privilege.
De kept calling all afternoon. She wanted me to take her to get her hair cut because my mom had had a stressful day and wanted to relax. I was busy and running around. I had to go to the bank, grocery store, register the boys for soccer, make dinner, wash dishes, to name a few. Of course she wanted it NOW! I kept telling her I could do it tomorrow or Thursday, they would be much more convenient but she just didn't want to hear it. OY!
Thomas was a handful, whining and tantrums over the littlest things until he got some food in him- he's just like my dad, De, (and sometimes me) in that way. He wouldn't/couldn't focus on his homework because he wanted to play his game-boy- which he wasn't supposed to be playing today anyway. Kids cleaned up the backyard today, which was nice.
Elle was a pain in the ass tonight. She whined because she wanted the computer but I wouldn't give it up. My argument was that she was still technically grounded although I haven't been treating her as such- letting her be on the computer a bit here and there, talk on the phone some when she takes a walk so she doesn't feel so isolated and alone, I don't feel like that would be healthy for her. Anyway I haven't been on the computer since Saturday and then I only checked my e-mail for a few minutes, I wasn't on for any length of time. But she got upset because I was on. Going so far as to say, "But you've been on since 4 o'clock." Yes I had been signed in, but I had a lot of other things (see paragraph 2). Heck I had asked her to take out to recycling 5 times (& 4 yesterday) and finally had to tell her if her dad came home and it was still there it would be on her floor in the morning. She took it out.
I don't know if it was just me or if it was them but all the little things just really seemed to get to me.
Holy crap the wind is really blowing out there!
