I was afraid it would be one of those overrated places you've heard about too much to really enjoy, but, no. It's as awesome as everyone says. It's probably two or three miles from work, tops, and on my way home. Cannot wait to swing by next week. (I try to restrain myself from going, you know, a few times a week.)

Mexihattan = bourbon (Makers AW YEAH) + vermouth + tequila + cherry = OH DEAR GOD MORE NOW. Somehow the tequila makes it SMOOTHER than a normal manhattan, so it goes down niiiiice and easy and then all of a sudden you're quoting showtunes and doing all the other lameass stuff that comes with being nicely buzzed.

and in my case "new hot thing" means "place near where i live that has half-price whiskey on Thursday nights and a jukebox with the Epoxies on it." which really should be the new hot thing everywhere.

and ohman. i was expecting just tequila + vermouth + cherry. what you have mentioned may be the perfect drink. i will be dreaming of it while not-too-bitterly drinking my $2.00 Makers and undoubtedly behaving ridiculously tonight.

Considering I'll be paying $6.75 for mine, you kind of win, at least. A little? But, yes, the mexihattan is pure perfection, like most of the drinks invented by the fine folks of Mexicali. I feel by now they should be paying me in margatinis for all the pimpin' I do for them.

The tiki bar we're hittin' on Friday is soooooo not near me in the least, but all of us tend to hit the same places (or same kinds of places) all the time, so we're going to do our best to branch out.
