Exciting Day

Despite my requesting the dates for Badon Hill off more than two months ago, Jo-Ann had me scheduled to work, and since Bev couldn't do anything I had to call Christy this morning and get that settled. She said just write myself off, but when I did that for the last day I called off (which they still had me scheduled for) I got a call asking why I wasn't in. Didn't get it trouble for it, though, thankfully. Hopefully better luck this time.

Then Anthony called to say that he'd gotten into a fender-bender on the way to work. Thankfully no one was harmed, and the car is still driveable, but he got ticketed and we've got a crunched-in front now. I am so effing angry about this. This is the second accident he's been in so far, (as well as at least four near-misses) both of which have been his fault, and we've only had the car a month. I wouldn't be so mad if it was just his car, but it's August's and mine as well, and it was in great condition when we bought it. Now it's a beater, all thanks to him, and of course, he has no money to repair any of the damage.

Then during driving practice I pulled out in front of guy too closely, and he went after me, honking me out, passing me, pulling in front and trying to get me to pull over (not happening!), pulling over himself and swearing at me as I went by, then tailgating me so closely I was afraid he'd crash into my back end, and then chasing me through town until we hit a red light, during which he got out of the car and tried to stare at me all menacingly in my side mirror. Thankfully after that we either lost him or he drove off, because we didn't see him again, but by then I was so rattled I had to pull over and wait for my hands to stop shaking. Then on the way home I got caught in a thunderstorm, and it was hailing and raining so hard I had to pull over again because I couldn't see where I was going.

Also, it's 5:00 and I've eaten nothing but a serving of tater tots all day.

Now I'm listening to birdsong and forest sounds and hoping things will be calmer this evening.

life, car, driving
