MAN~
Past couple nights have been pretty intense at the ol' dream factory. I'm thinking it's got something everything to do with my renting such vivid, in-your-face, almost offensive movies the last few nights, and the fact that I'm watching them whilst winding down and going to bed. That whole King of the Ants bullshit started it all. Then I watched The Butterfly Effect last night - and HOLY. Crack city. And I never did get to see Farenheight yet, but from what I've heard so far, these rented movies seem to be decent alternatives if you're looking to watch something... disturbing. I don't know - there's just something comforting about watching movies with happy endings; maybe a subconsious fantasy that no matter how shitty things can get at any given time, in the end all will work out and be good. The Butterfly Effect was almost as much of an emotional rollercoaster ride for me as What Dreams May Come. But it was like it almost felt incomplete or something, in a way, because it wasn't the "rainbows & butterflies" "imagined" haooy ending that 90% of movies are. Surrre they're predictable, and boring - to some point, but movies with happy endings sort of bring you back down from that uneasy feeling you get when things go awry... You get all emotionally stirred up, but then simmer back down to a comfortable level when there's a happy ending. But, I guess it goes both ways. I'm sure some would argue that the constant happy ending is a warped fantasy that shelters people from the harsh realities of the world, leaving them dumbfounded when faced with said realities in their own personal lives, because they won't know how to react when faced with certain situations...
Whatever, the point was that I have had some SUPER strange dreams lately, and they feel more real than they have in a long time. I got pretty into the dream thing for a while, with dream books up the wazoo, dream journals - all that jazz. Got to the point where I could even kind of control some of the goings-on within the dreams. And it was kind of cool... I need to hook that shit back up, that lucid dreaming skill. I always have some pretty bizarre dreams, but lately they have been just a little too strange, even for me. They're making me sleep like really hard and I feel exhausted when I get up... And it's not really much fun... So yeah...
Anyway - blah blah blah... Why don't I ramble some more?
I am freaking hungry. And it is way to freaking cold to be July. Hey Dixies, guess what? That song of yours isn't quite as metaphoric as it was before, just F.Y.I. Because
DAAAAAAAAAAMN it's chilly out. And it is, in fact, July. Y no me gusta. Nidigo midige gidigusta what-so-ever!
Anyway, it's time to go do mail. So, I s'pose I'll wrap up this bizarre, and very meaningless, post for now and get back to work...
God I miss Shag.
