2010 # 30 - Serious business (please help)
I'm writing this, nearly in tears...and I am hoping that everyone who reads will pass this on. yeonah's French teacher's little girl is very ill and we want to give her a little bit of happiness to cling onto when things get tough. Maëlle is an absolutely adorable little girl with horrible, life-threatening diseases. (sorry but the link is in French - try Google Translate or Babelfish if you need help, or ask me and I'll give you the gist of it)
What we're hoping to do is to send little Maëlle (and if you feel up to it, her parents) some photos, drawings, or a little story (suitable for a child) to help make her smile and give her something to look forward to. Given the seriousness of the situation (she's been in the hospital so many times it's not even funny and things are that serious that she's almost died), we are asking that if you want to send anything, the deadline is by Monday, the 17th of May so we have time to translate anything written and get it to Yeonah to put into a little scrapbook for Maëlle.
It will be an on-going project (due dates to come) but we really are hoping that this touches each of you so much that you will want to send something as soon as you can, and please...pass this on to your friends. Let's make Maëlle and her family smile and show them they're not alone. I really appreciate you guys and any support you can give, however small. Even one photo or drawing is a huge gift to a sick little girl.
You can email it to the email address below with whatever you want us to send her and it doesn't matter that it won't be in French. We both can translate.
