Go to space for $150
This is too cool for words. A group of three MIT students used a helium-filled weather balloon to send a camera to the edge of space (actually 93,000 feet, which is still pretty good) and take fabulous pictures. I read about these in the paper today, of all places.
Google Moon, kind of like Google Earth but for the moon, with lots of data from NASA. This will be worth hours of goofing off online. :) And it makes a nice complement to Google Mars. Eventually they want to integrate Google Earth and Moon, but it's not there yet.
