Many people have had eloquent things to say to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. Rather than try to match their eloquence, I'll just post some timely links.
NASA has released
newly restored video from Apollo 11. In high definition, no less.
Unfortunately, they had to make digital restorations from copies because
they taped over the original raw footage from Apollo 11. (insert eye rolling here)
Points to the Discovery Channel for being darn near the only channel to actually show anything related to Apollo today, on the actual anniversary. They re-ran the Mythbusters episode proving the moon landings really happened (busting the hoax theories) and now they're running a new episode of "When We Left Earth".
