So I extended my Labor Day weekend by taking yesterday off as well, and I drove down to raid my dad's garden visit with my parents. It was really nice and relaxing - my parents are just wonderful people, and we get along great. (I know, I know, I'm sooooo lucky in that regard!)
Since we had such a cold spring (and an inconsistent summer), all the veggies are coming late. Still, I got: 4 yellow zucchini, 2 bell peppers, a TON of different lettuces, 2 cucumbers, some onions and potatoes, all the beans that were ready (they are so LATE!), a couple of big tomatoes and a bunch of orange cherry tomatoes, some early fall apples, and more strawberries than I know what to do with! Well, that's not exactly true. I made Dad a strawberry pie while I was there, and my parents still sent me home with 3 quarts! So I made another pie for my friends and their twin 4-yo boys, and we will devour it tonight. I'm tellin' ya, it pays to be friends with the Supplyship! ;)
There is nothing that tastes more like summer than a strawberry pie. YUM!

In fandom-related news:
- Welcome back all ye D*Con attendees! It sounds like it was a lot of drunken debauchery fun! While you were away, we played at no_con_do, and had a Continuum rewatch, hosted by abyssinia4077. If you want to scare yourself silly, check out my entry to the no_con_do Pony Workshop. Goa'uld pony is gold!
- Supernatural Season 3 DVDs are out, and evidently, Target and Best Buy have some "special" packaging - a locker poster with the Target version (omg), and a matchbox car (the Impala, natch) with the Best Buy version (OMG!). I'm swinging by BB tonight, but I doubt they'll have any left, boo.
- Think Geek is a) running grab-bag T-shirt sale, b) holding a contest to win a BSG Raider replica, signed by Katee Sackhoff, and c) selling this ponies t-shirt which I think Trout should get.
