It's 2 hours and 49 minutes until I get to go home- OF COURSE I AM NOT WORKING.

Here is how crazy my life has been today:
This morning I called on the apartment I will be renting after two weeks of not hearing anything back from my application.  I am too tired of being angry about this so here is the short of it-
  • Evictions are civil documents, meaning that the information on them does not include social security or birthday.
  • Some bitch named Laurie Evans was evicted twice in Curry County during years when I rented rooms from other people/apparently rented from a company that is a black hole because they have no record of me living there DESPITE MY NAME BEING ON THE LEASE, so I cannot prove that it is not me without a lot of legwork and time.
  • I am supposed to move into my apartment in three weeks.
  • As a result, my deposit is $200 more than I had originally intended.
GAAAAH!!!!  Yes, this is a test on my recently renewed faith and love of life, because several times today I have thought about murdering people that were on the other end of the phone.  And please do not comment to this entry with suggestions about what to do because at this point, I am just going to bend over and take it so that I can get into the apartment without any more problems.

But, I think that in this situation I can definitely count my blessings on a number of things:
1) Mom and Dad have generously agreed to loan me said $500 and let me pay them back over the next SEVERAL months without interest.  Their reasoning? "You need to get out of that basement."  Touche.
2) I get the appartment of my dreams, which has *literally* everything that I am looking for:
-First floor so that I can keep my elliptical (If I were to live on the second floor it would sound like I was having 40 minutes of perfectly rythmed vigorous nookie each night.)
-Giant deck where I can sit and read
-4'x6' hall closet
-Walk-in closet in bedroom
-MY OWN SPACE in both the kitchen and bathroom so that I do not have to keep odd items like Q-tips and food storage in my bedroom.
-Huge living room for if I ever choose to be social again
-An AIR-CONDITIONER- There are NO affordable apartments in Oregon with air-conditioners.  It is simply unheard of.
3) Victor, Grant, and Bryan are all going to help out- and if I ask sweetly, Kendall may even pitch in.  They all have friends that are big too, so that should be good!  :)  I seriously doubt that Victor will even remember that he made the promise to help out, but if he knows what's good for him, he will pick up some boxes and bags of shoes and move his tucchus.
4) I get to be a real grown up now!

I am not going to let this setback stand in the way of enjoying what is ultimately the biggest blessing to be placed in my lap in a long period of time.

In other news, this weekend=BUSY

Tonight, I head back to Eugene where my Saturday will include:
7-8:00 AMish Visit my brother at work- get an estimate on some printed lanyards for our annual conference in the spring.
10:00 Over to the UO for my nephew Travis' graduation from college
1:00 Back to Springfield for my longtime BFF, Tammy's, bridal shower- it's a naughty and nice them so I bought her an apron for the top and a couple pairs of see-through panties for the bottom.
6:00 Over to my sister Kelly's for a family graduation/7 y.o. neice's birthday party
10:00ish- Head back to Portland (I think.  I hate sleeping at my parent's house because their spare bed is a futon mattress and it is UN-COM-FORT-ABLE.)

So things are kind of crazy- but I am still smiling, and for that I feel blessed.  Now I am only 2 hours and 10 minutes from going home.  AWWWWW-RIIIIIIIIGHT!.
