Thanks for posting! :)

I had that thought about the lighting too! Especially in that scene of Sammy you capped. The shape in the back and the weird wind in the scene almost makes it seem like he's in a church or something. Church equalling the ultimate holy joint, yeah? And then Dean with all his (sexy) glares. Ahhh!! *flails*

But omg, Sam's face in that scene. He looks so... idk... harrowed? Yay for facials, Jared! \O/

I think you raise a valid point. I heard someone say a few weeks back they thought that maybe Sam was an angel??? Which could be true and Dean could maybe be connected to Mr Yellow Eyes?? Ohh I dunno I just need it to be back right about NOW!

Can you imagine if both the brothers were from opposing sides??? How damn heartbreaking would that be??

Oh the angst if the boys were on opposing sides!!

That reminds me!! I had more speculation to post! heh.

From what I know spoilers wise, it has to be with the episode previously known as Touched - apparently now called Houses of the Holy or something like that. There a snap shots of this episode for starters, and the whole episode is about a dead priest who thinks he's doing god's work and he is an angel, but he is really leading people to kill each other.

But of course, the whole episode could work as some metaphor for the boys.

Yeah it could. I mean like I said in the post, all of my speculation points could just be creative editing and such, but I just thought it was an interesting idea. :)

I think the church scene is from the episode "Nightshifter".

Which made me wonder if maybe the whole "side" argument would be more about Dean

I don't think so. I'm pretty sure Sam is the one. The demon was after him the whole time. The only thing I'm not sure about is what the demon plans with Sam in particular.

I trust that Kripke has more twists up his sleeve

Kripke is actually the one fueling me trying to find out what other possible things the secret could be.. I mean he's pulled stuff on us before and he's been super creative with the twists, so it seems like the mutually agreed upon concensus of "Sam will be evil" is too conventional, too expected.. like you said.. more twists!

i know everyone seems to think that sam is going to be the one that
turns "evil" but i just can't see how that could happen
unless there's a force that's making him do so.
he's very level-headed, strong-willed and has morals.
whereas dean is already showing signs of just...being done,
you know? it seems like for a while now he's been on the brink
of losing himself.

I always thought that the lightning shows Dean's state of mind. We know that he's not really holding up that good and in Croatoan he was talking about suicide...

As for Sam - hey, that boy is just a good person whereas Dean has a lot of darkness inside him. He always seemed a bit dangerous to me.

Heh. Oh, yeah. Sam's pure as the driven snow. :P They've both got their darkness, I think, and I can't tell which one the show's going to take down that path.

Dean with all that darkness. The guy whose first reason, on numerous occassions, for explaining why hunting was a good thing is that it enabled them to save people. Dean who spent his whole life putting other people's needs ahead of his own. Dean whose only been falling to pieces because he's had pressures put upon him from all sides on top of a lifetime already filled responsibility and pressure. Dean who even now is wanting to "run away" not because of something about himself but because of something that most directly effects someone else(Sam). Dean who stepped in front of a woman when a gun was pointed at her by her stepson. A woman said to be "worst of all" because she didn't call in the cops when her husband and his brother were beating her stepson ( ... )

That's a very well thought out post and it makes a lot of sense to me. Should be interesting to see which direction the show takes our boys. I can't wait! :D
