Dean with all that darkness. The guy whose first reason, on numerous occassions, for explaining why hunting was a good thing is that it enabled them to save people. Dean who spent his whole life putting other people's needs ahead of his own. Dean whose only been falling to pieces because he's had pressures put upon him from all sides on top of a lifetime already filled responsibility and pressure. Dean who even now is wanting to "run away" not because of something about himself but because of something that most directly effects someone else(Sam). Dean who stepped in front of a woman when a gun was pointed at her by her stepson. A woman said to be "worst of all" because she didn't call in the cops when her husband and his brother were beating her stepson.
You know, the Archangel Michael was a pretty dangerous dude, I don't think anyone would suggest he had alot of darkness inside him. I'm not saying Dean's an angel but being dangerous is not synonymous with darkness. Dean has always shown himself time and again to be a good person. Following whatever the currently fashionable rules of morality is not necessarily the same thing as being good. In all the things that truly count Dean showed himself time and again to be a good person.
That's a very well thought out post and it makes a lot of sense to me. Should be interesting to see which direction the show takes our boys. I can't wait! :D
