So my predictions for today were barely accurate.
I keep trying to quit my job and it's not working. No one is answering the phone.
I would have to work in like, an hour and a half.
I called around 2:00 at first, so they would have lots of time to call someone in, but there was no answer.
I called just now, and the lounge should be open by now, but still, no.
I hate it, because I get really nervous everytime I dial, thinking, "ok, this is it..." and then it isn't.
I have started worrying that maybe I am making a mistake, taking the job at the Sportsman. Especially after what my horoscope said for today.
However, the last time my horoscope told me to think long and hard about my 'career' moves, it was when I decided to quit at the T-bird, and that ended up working out very well. I got hired at Kan's the very next day.
I read this big huge year-start horoscope booklet in The Province (that's a newspaper by the way), and it was pretty accurate.
It did a past, present and future overview, and at first it seemed kind of dumb to me.
"Things really started to pick up for you in 1981..."
Um, I was born in '86.
My mom and I read them back over together and she was like, "that was the year me and your dad got together".
Haha, so things really did pick up when I was a negative integer.
Then I was like, "mom can you pass me the virgo section?".
It's a strange habit, I know.
She gave me the one eyebrow, and said sarcastically, "you're curious about your grandmother's, right?".
Then she said, "yeah and I always read the aries horoscope for my daughter". (my dad was an aries)
Then I realized that she had made a comparison of how I love Bryden, to how she loved my Dad.
I'm glad somebody gets it. I didn't expect it to be her.
I'm also glad all the glasses were full upstairs at that point because I had to step into the storeroom for a moment until my face stopped leaking.
This is still really, really hard.
I don't even know how to approach this "getting over someone".
What are you supposed to do?
In the movies, it was always solved with a bucket of ice cream, and a cliche girls night out (or some gay slumber party depending on age appropriateness).
Well I've been partying for months, and I've gone through many buckets of ice cream and I've gotten nowhere.
So how do people do this in real life?
Give me all your advice, all your good break-up songs, any and all reasons to stop caring, and if you're in hugging distance, I could use a few of those, too.
Let's do this thing.
