Ok, so our "loser's lounge" out at Rob's, where we play poker, has a dart board.
I've discovered I like playing darts a whole bunch.
I think its just that I like to hurl really sharp things at other things that the sharp things will puncture every so often.
I want a dart board!
So, you're probably thinking, "Seewuh, you live in an apartment, this is probably a bad idea..." but I figured it out.
The balcony/enclosure/porchish area!
See all I would have to do is get a big piece of plywood, and nail it to the building (I know this sounds bad already but trust me). I took a look outside today, and it's entirely possible to do without causing any damage to the building when I take it down.
I just need to make sure the nails end up somewhere that wont be visible when I take them out again, and with the way the wood of the building is slanted, it's very possible.
Then, I can hang my dart board on the plywood and boom!
I am just going to wait until my managers are on vacation or something before I start nailing things to their building.
Now, if you know me in person, you're probably thinking, "but Seewuh, your porch reeks of garbage, and it's full of dead leaves and all sorts of other gross crap!"
Not anymore, my non-existant friend!
I spent over an hour scrubbing, cleaning, and removing the garbage from the deck.
It's spotless now.
For those of you in internetland, this is a big accomplishment.
See, for one, the garbage bins are really really far away from where I am. I swear it takes at least 3 minutes to walk to them. This is why, instead of taking the garbage out regularly, I just sort of threw the bags out onto the porch.
There were like, 6 of them, and 2 of bottles.
They were all really heavy, and I had to haul them way uphill to the garbage bins.
That, alone, is a victory over laziness.
Then, after all that crap was gone, I had to think of a way to clean the area without a mop (because I don't have one).
I live on the ground floor under a bunch of trees, so on top of everything, the porch was stained with all this like, brown leaf gunk.
So here was my solution.
I took a big squirt bottle of dishsoap, and squeezed, aiming in all directions. I coated my porch in soap.
Then, I took my broom, which has soft plastic bristles, good for scrubbing, and scrubbed for like an hour, every so often grabbing a pitcher of hot water and rinsing.
I had some serious flashbacks to the foam party at the T-bird.
There was so much soap foam.
It ended up being really fun.
Oh yeah and I had my desk sitting out there because I moved it to vacuum and sort of left it there, and now that is set up with a chair, and my buddha board, and some candles, and it's all chill.
It looks nice. I think I am going to put some serious work into making my porch a cool place to hang out.
I miss listening to the rain, so that was sort of my motivation for that part.
Well. That was my day.
I still haven't quit my job. Maybe they'll call when I don't show up.
