Return to Nature
Balaji Shankar runs an Organic farm in Mayiladuthurai (formerly Mayavaram) in Tamil Nadu. He has documented his experiences of trying to get back to a simpler way of life - one that involves making nature do it's job and being a mere participant of it than a forcible wielder of power and control over nature.
He used to hack around FreeBSD/OpenBSD machines for a living. He still seems to be doing that but seems to have 'sorta' successfully returned to meeting basic needs such as food, shelter, medicines and schooling for his children.
He runs a mailing list to seek and meet like-minded people to form a community near where he lives.
