Thanks for the links. Only yesterday I was pondering the possibility of making a life in farming. I think I will be able to make it during good economic times. But I am not at all sure if my farm will survive economic downtimes.

That fear lurks in me too - of whether my farm will survive during economic downtimes and whether I can meet my needs using the 'sales' from the farm.

However, organic farming requires very little inputs and most of the inputs can be produced in your own farm. My dad and I are beginning an experimenting of producing Vermicompost out of the organic waste from the kitchen.

... and after a long time, I'm beginning to get back to Doordarshan to watch 'Vayalum Vaazhvum'! There seems to be rich valuable advise on sustainable farming practices.
