Dried blood caked the sides of Adam's face and neck as he sat in his car outside of where the one person he considered a close friend lived, aside from Gideon; yet they were more than friends. He held his cell phone to his ear waiting for an answer on the other end. And even though he knew it was around four in the morning, he'd still dialed Emil's number.
