Who: Iris and Ariel
Where: The Bronze
When: Wednesday Night
Iris sat at the bar at the Bronze, hoping that Ariel would show up tonight. She was hoping that the girl would show so that she could give her the CD back. Now it was signed by the entire band, so Iris was sure that would make the girl very happy. Plus, she was still pretty sure that she could rangle a meeting with a couple of the guys for her before they headed out on tour again. The girl just needed to appear.
And as fate would have it, Ariel was having one of those evenings where the people at the bite club were giving her crap about her ID. Seemed some people either believed her or didn't care, while others weren't having it. So... flustered a bit, the young, wide-eyed girl sashayed into the Bronze, wearing a black knee-length skirt, blue stockings, black heels, and a dark blue, form-fitting t-shirt. Grumbling lightly to herself, she took a quick look around to see if anyone from school was there.
When Iris saw Ariel walk into the bar, she waved at her, hoping that the girl would come over and collect her CD.
Ariel perked up a bit, seeing the woman she half-teasingly called 'the luckiest bitch in Sunnydale'. Seriously: gorgeous, smart, and with a handsome rock-star-in-the-making as a boyfriend. Anyway. The blonde made her way over to Iris, smiling sweetly. "Hey... we meet again!"
Iris smiled back at her. "Yes, we do. And this time, I come bearing gifts," she said, pulling the CD out of her purse.
Ariel's eyes went cartoon-wide, as she'd honestly figured Iris forgot about it by now. Snatching the CD comically, she leaned in and hugged Iris sweetly. "Ohmygod. I so owe you big for this..."
Iris hugged her back. "It's no problem. I am *very* good friends with the lead singer, you know," she said comically, laughing a little.
"Yeah, rub it in some more why don'tcha." Ariel laughed though, and carefully zipped the CD inside her purse. "Speaking of that, why the hell are you here by yourself?"
"Pat and the rest of the band are rehearsing for their tour coming up," Iris told her. "They're also taking Suicide Messiah on the West Coast leg of their tour." Of course, this meant that Iris wouldn't have long with her new husband before he ran off on the road. Someone had to hang behind and tend to the house while he was away. Plus, she needed to work on her teacher's certification, with the just graduating college and all.
"You ever worry about that?" She regretted saying it as soon as it came out, but still... it was something she'd thought of. "I mean, he's gonna be around a LOT of trampy girls..."
"According to his bandmates, he's very tame," Iris said. Actually, not trusting him out on the road never really crossed her mind. "I trust him completely."
"God, I'd be the worst girlfriend ever to someone in a band. I'd be the type who calls every half hour to make sure he's not face down in someone's lap." She laughed again, freely admitting her own insecurities. Hey, the girl was 14, of COURSE she was insecure.
"Well, you've just got to learn to trust, I suppose." Of course, hearing all the worst things that could happen was not exactly pleasant. So, change of topic. "I think I might be able to get you a little meet and greet with Jack before they take off, by the way."
"Oh wow, that'd be great! You're seriously the coolest chick ever." While she knew she wouldn't be getting her 'fix' tonight, Iris had managed to make this a decent night for her anyway.
"What's a good night for you? I'll make sure that he's good with the hanging out," Iris told her.
"Wow, any night is fine, really... I'll make the time." Ariel was kind of amazed that this woman was being so kind to her when they barely knew each other...
