I think everyone has heard that "the first line is most important, since it makes the reader decide whether to read the whole book or not". I think whoever coined that phrase was wrong. Really wrong.

I  have met people who will read the whole first chapter, despite how stupid or ridiculous they find the first line. I'm pretty sure every author loves ( Read more... )
