I met the Red Dwarf crew! And other good news...

On Sunday me and my friends went to Norwich, to the East Anglian University for their Sci-Fi convention. Despite it being small it was such a great, fun day. To recap briefly, myself and other friends are part of a group (unregistered charity) called The Heroes Alliance where we dress up as superheroes and villains to raise money for the Make a Wish Foundation, a few celebs were there to sign autographs and there were other cosplayers too.

Who I was really happy to see were Chris Barry (who played Rimmer, in my all time favorite British Sci-Fi comedy show, Red Dwarf) along with Norman Lovett who played Holly; the ship's computer. He was so funny, he's also a stand up comedian and at the end of the day when it was arranged that we all could take a photo with them both, he put on a short purple wig and black eye mask, turns out he's a fan of Kick Ass! That was the coolest thing I'd ever seen/heard! I didn't really get to talk to them but I shook their hands, and they both seemed really down to earth, funny guys.

Picture!

Made. Of. Awesome.

You see that Penguin sitting on the table? He's Mr Flibble, he appeared in an early episode of Red Dwarf when Rimmer went nuts because of a virus that made you go nuts, he'd often talk to the penguin and vice versa. An absolute classic episode for any Red Dwarf fan. And shortly before (or after I can't remember) this EPIC photo was taken:

Photo bombed by Mr Flibble!

So many great photos were taken that day, including trying to fit all of us superheroes into the photo-booth that was there, but it cost a whopping £5 for one photo and we relaized it wasn't feasible, so someone else took our picture from outside the booth XD

Around lunch time we stood guard at entrances while the celebs had their lunch so no one tried to get past to bother them, we were also given our own dressing room which was fantastic! All in all a great day was had, except my poor friend who drove us a good few hours there and then back again.

on other good news!

I had the meeting with the woman from Front UK agency (the make up agency that can give make up artists work and also give others work at various make up concessions at different stores) I've never found it so easy to get a job before, I know that they'll only call if they need me, such is agency work, but still, it's a great start off point, and if I do well someone may want to keep me on permanently. I got a call today saying that Givenchy needed someone over the weekend at Debenhams, so yay! I really hope I do well!

That's all for now, wish me luck! ^_^
