This song is one of my favorites from Spitz, ever. The lyrics contain a lot of 'read between the lines'. I think the song is about suddenly meeting a person that you were in love with a long time ago, after years of being apart, then realizing that the fire is still there.
[Theories of the meaning of the title]The title is an enigma, and Kusano-san has never spoken about the true meaning of the word 'P'. Because of that, fans have made multiple theories about the title. I will share the most popular theory. In Japanese, the 'beep' sound is basically 'pii-on'. In the second verse, Kusano-san wrote that he 'hid behind the 'pii-on' sound.' which possibly means that he was calling the other person on the telephone, but didn't have the courage to leave a message or say anything beyond the 'beep'. So basically, the title signifies the cowardice of the man in the song and his pathetic inability to do anything about his emotions. I think it's amazing how much meaning just a simple letter such as 'P' can make.
